1. Entrants may only submit ONE entry for each category, photo and video.
2. Your photo or video must be original, and must incorporate an image of the poet's gravesite.
3. For photos you can use other images, like book covers, or photographs, or natural materials,
....in order to make a collage, but the composition must be an original work.
4. For video you are strictly limited to 4 minutes, and you can use music by others if you want,
....but original music by you or a friend/s will score higher.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
There are only 2 ways to submit an entry:
(Do NOT send entries in e-mails to us as digital files)
1. The picture or the video may be uploaded to the Poets' Graves and Tombstone Art Flickr Account.
2. You may post your picture or video to an online service or group and then send only the LINK to us, including your name and contact information at:
dpproject (at) deadpoes (dot) org
CRITERIA
The three main categories will be creativity, quality, and choice of tombstone.
Quality will include things like color, sharpness, contrast and focus. For video work, this will include how how well the footage is framed and edited.
Creativity will include how the image relates to a poet's life or work, novel ways of interpreting the works, imaginating new ways of capture old ideas. The really creative will submit entries that are beyond our ability to make rules or suggestions about.
Choice of tombstone means picking one of the 400 poets' graves on our A-List that is not well-documented yet. The A-list of those 400 poets is on each State and Regional Blog, and you will get extra points for choosing one of these graves to document.
